The Tom Joyner Foundation and BetMGM are partnering to offer an executive series to Historically Black University and Colleges (HBCUs) nationwide beginning this autumn. The partnership will offer HBCU students the chance to network with BetMGM executives and navigate the recruitment process to prepare for career opportunities at the company after their graduation.
The Tom Joyner Foundation is a driving force behind scholarship distribution and focuses on fundraising for African Americans from less privileged backgrounds.
BetMGM’s executive series will consist of executive-student panels, professional resume evaluations and job interview preparation. The workshops will help graduating seniors pursue roles in various industries including HR, legal, marketing, finance, product design and more.
BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt says: “We're proud to partner with The Tom Joyner Foundation in working with HBCU students to help them identify pathways to successful careers. Our goal at BetMGM is to promote equitable candidate experiences and an inclusive working environment."
The Tom Joyner Foundation is delighted with this partnership, believing it will broaden prospects for HBCU students. Creator of the foundation, Tom Joyner, says: "Our goal has been to keep students in school and, it is critical that we ensure their success after graduation through phenomenal partnerships with organizations such as BetMGM.”
The Tom Joyner Foundation was founded in 1998 as the brainchild of its namesake, a former nationally syndicated radio personality. The mission of the foundation is to support HCBUs with scholarships, endowments and capacity-building enhancements. Through fundraising and donor development initiatives, over $69m has been raised to support more 32,000 students.
