It is planning a special launch series and a summer of promotional events for Ontarian customers.

PokerStars, an online poker cardroom, announced that it has been granted a full registration to operate in the Canadian province of Ontario by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

The registration encompasses the three verticals of poker, casino and sport. The new operation will include gaming products Ontarians know and love while presenting a localized schedule and offering, as well as exclusive PokerStars rewards and benefits.

Included in the remit of PokerStars registration are more than 5,000 games, including poker, blackjack and much more. Games will be available 24/7 and the in-app and online experience provides consumers various ways for customers to play and be rewarded.

To celebrate the new PokerStars CAON platform, PokerStars will be hosting a special launch series called the Ontario Platinum Series. The series is exclusively for Ontarians and will take place from July 10-18, boasting a $1.5m guaranteed prize pool.

PokerStars are looking to give Ontarians a summer of enticing events and experiences, including a rewards program that will give players double rewards throughout July and August. Additionally, they will launch a new weekly flagship event known as the New Sunday Majors which will be a special Sunday tournament with a $100k guaranteed prize pool.

PokerStars is keen to begin a close partnership with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to provide players with epic rewards, opportunities, and experiences.

PokerStars Managing Director of Marketing Tom Warren says: “In many respects Ontario is our home market, given the first ever hand of PokerStars was played here over 20 years ago, so we are thrilled about the new regulated environment within which our players can play.

“A lot has changed in that time, but our commitment to offering our players the most epic and thrilling experience in the market hasn't – and we can't wait to get started."
