International Gaming Technology (IGT) has been awarded a gold sustainability rating from EcoVadis, a leading ratings agency. This gold medal places IGT among the top 5% of global companies assessed by EcoVadis.
EcoVadis is a leading sustainability rating agency and uses comprehensive criteria to determine sustainable business practices. The company has adopted 21 benchmarks to evaluate human rights, ethics, labor, environment and sustainable procurement.
IGT SVP of Marketing, Communications and Sustainability Wendy Montgomery stated: "As a leader in global sustainability for over 15 years, IGT has a thorough understanding of the significant value that sustainable practices provide to our stakeholders, and ESG strategies remain at the forefront of our corporate priorities."
IGT set forth its pledge for sustainable growth using the guiding principles of the 2030 United Nations agenda for sustainable development. In 2020, the company identified nine Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and laid out four strategic priorities in its annual Sustainability Report: to value and protect people, advance responsibilities, foster sustainable actions and support communities.
In order to foster sustainable operations, IGT ensured that all of its suppliers adhered to the company’s supplier code of conduct. This conduct states that suppliers must abide by fair competition laws, protect whistleblower confidentiality and comply with global anti-tax evasion laws (among other conditions).
Montgomery reiterates: "The sustainability criteria assessed and rated by EcoVadis is embedded into IGT's culture and daily operations to sustain long-term growth for our business. We take great pride in this gold medal achievement and will continue our journey of contributing to a more sustainable future."
