BetMGM partners with Sony Pictures Television, IGT to release Wheel of Fortune Casino

The new online casino is based on the American gameshow.

Sports betting and iGaming operator BetMGM has signed an agreement with Sony Pictures Television and International Game Technology PLC (IGT). Together, they will launch the Wheel of Fortune Casino, based on the iconic American gameshow, which has been running for the last 40 years.

Wheel of Fortune Casino will launch first in New Jersey and will offer IGT’s America’s Game branded slot titles.

BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost said: “Wheel of Fortune is watched nightly by millions of people and BetMGM is honored to partner with Sony Pictures Television and IGT to bring this online casino experience to life. 

"Once live, Wheel of Fortune Casino will offer players the excitement of their favorite gameshow and real money wagering in the palm of their hand."

During the last 25 years, more than 250 versions of Wheel of Fortune slot games have been released to fans. The Wheel of Fortune Casino is the latest gaming extension of the well-known gameshow brand.

Sony Pictures Television Executive Vice President of Game Shows Suzanne Prete commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with BetMGM for the launch of Wheel of Fortune’s very first online casino. With Wheel of Fortune celebrating its 40th season this year, we are pleased to continue offering players additional, new ways to play the games they know and love.”

IGT is a global software making and gaming specialist. The company reported the highest full-year operating income in its history during 2021, topping out at $902m. It also generated $770m in free cash flow and more than $1bn in cash from its operations during the year.

The company achieved another first a year ahead of schedule by lowering its net debt by $1.4bn, the lowest level it has ever had.

IGT CEO Digital & Betting Enrico Drago said the company looks forward to the partnership and hopes the casino will bring in new players.
