This is the largest guaranteed single live prize pool in the history of poker.

The World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas will include the biggest single live prize pool guarantee in poker’s history, totaling $15m.

World Poker Tour CEO Adam Pliska said: “This is one of the most ambitious initiatives the World Poker Tour has undertaken in our 20-year history.

“We expect this to be a highly anticipated festival and are elated to be partnering with Wynn Las Vegas to bring this concept to life.”

The WPT World Championship multi-tournament festival will take place during December, with the marquee event running from December 1 to December 20, 2022. There will be three Day 1 flights, running from December 12 to December 14.

The festival will feature more than a dozen tournaments. Among those will be three primary events: the Prime Championship, the Wynn Mystery Bounty and the World Championship.

The WPT World Championship will host nearly 200 online qualifiers, with other live satellites bringing in hundreds more who qualify.

US players can win an entry package through ClubWPT, which is the WPT’s official subscription online poker game. ClubWPT will begin hosting several opportunities to qualify as early as next week.

Poker fans will be able to watch a televised final table championship event. Buy-in for the championship will be $10,400. The champion will be crowned on December 20.

World Poker Tour Vice President of Global Tour Management Angelica Hael commented: “We are absolutely thrilled with our multi-year partnership with Wynn Las Vegas. Alongside the WPT Prime Championship and various off-the-felt activities planned, the WPT World Championship festival puts a historic exclamation point on World Poker Tour Season 20.”
