Gaming & Technology Expo bets again on Punta Cana

June 6, 2022

The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club will dress up to welcome the region's gaming industry on June 8, 9 and 10.

The Dominican Republic is currently undergoing a regulatory updating process that has not been seen for a decade. Hence the interest aroused by the discussion on one of the draft bills that, within the framework of GAT Caribe, will be led by Congressman Luis Henríquez, on Thursday morning, June 9, accompanied by a group of legislators from the National Congress, casino businessmen and sports banking operators.

José Aníbal Aguirre, General Director of GAT Expo, commented: "The support of the Dominican Casino Association and the National Sports Banking Association has been decisive in guaranteeing the presence of the most renowned operators in the country. In addition to the discussion with representatives of the Chamber of Deputies and businessmen, I would like to highlight the participation of these associations in the Compliance Workshop that we will hold as the closing event of the academic agenda, on the afternoon of Friday, June 10. The workshop on this very sensitive topic in organizations will provide attendees with tools to identify operational and legal risks, establishing internal management, control and reaction mechanisms. I am especially pleased that GAT is an open and impartial showcase, plural for all segments of gaming, including the state sector and the private sector. This is how the Dominican industry has understood it. I am also grateful for the invaluable collaboration of V&I Legal Consultants, Fecoljuegos and Cornazar in this version of GAT Caribe".

Conferences and panels will allow to share with local entrepreneurs the successes and difficulties of the regulation of online gaming in Colombia and to know directly the differences and successful business models applied in different gaming verticals by DR operators.

The main topics of the institutional lectures are:

- Importance of self-regulation in games of chance in advertising, communications and other matters. Speaker: Evert Montero Cárdenas, President Fecoljuegos.

- Regulatory experience and challenges for new regulations in the region. Presented and conducted by María Paola Isaza from V&I Legal Consultants and Liliana Viveros from BetCrisDominicana.

- New generation games in land-based gaming. Speaker: Elizabeth Maya Cano, President of Cornazar.

- Compliance Workshop for games of chance. Led by Iliana Pineda, President of the Compliance Officers Group Fecoljuegos.

Corporate conferences, online gaming and cybersecurity:

- Altenar

- MetaMap

The exhibition in stands will be held in the afternoon hours on June 9 and 10. Visitors will be able to learn directly about the proposals of important companies such as BetConstruct, BetCris, Pragmatic Play, Altenar B2B and MetaMap, a cybersecurity company. Cockpit Gaming and Evolution Gaming will arrive as Sponsors, as well as the sports betting platform Juancito Sport and the sports betting company Superbets. The public will also be able to see the latest slot and roulette advances from IGC Gaming Systems and Solutions.

In the incomparable multicolored scenario offered by Punta Cana, participants may choose to attend the networking on Wednesday afternoon, June 8, sailing the waters of the Atlantic and attend the opening reception offered by BetConstructon June 9 in the afternoon-evening hours. The Lounge Zone will also be an important meeting point at the Westin Hotel, with the sponsorship of Evolution Gaming and Superbets.

3A Producciones, its management staff, the hotel team and City Group Arquitectura, the partner company for the construction and assembly of advertising and stands, are reviewing and fine-tuning details for a successful staging of GAT Caribe 2022.
