Experienced risk manager moves over from William Hill.

Newly minted sports betting platform DAZN BET has a new Head of Safer Gambling.

Gemma Burge broke the news with a post on her LinkedIn page:

“I’m absolutely delighted to share that I’m starting a new position as Head of Safer Gambling at DAZN Bet. I'm really excited to be working for this incredible brand as they start their new venture, building a gambling experience that will promote safe play and customer well-being.

Time to pack those bags and relocate to the Rock!”

As reported by Gaming America April 21, DAZN, a global sports media company, signed a multi-year agreement with Pragmatic Group, the parent company of Pragmatic Play, to develop and operate a new sports betting platform named DAZN BET.

The platform, which as Burge noted is headquartered in Gibraltar, has a stated goal of leveraging DAZN’s customer base and brand recognition in order to expand the sports media company’s influence in the gaming industry.

DAZN BET will utilize all of DAZN logos and brands, while the underlying technology will be provided by Pragmatic, thanks to its experience in the gambling industry.

According to Burge’s LinkedIn page, she comes to DAZN BET from William Hill, where she worked for nearly three years.

Burge was hired by William Hill as its Safer Gambling Risk Manager in June 2019. She helped relocate the existing safer gambling processes from London to Leeds.

In February 2020, she was named Head of Safer Gambling, Retail. In June 2021, Burge moved up to Head of UK Safer Gambling Policy Strategy & Risk.

Prior to her stint at William Hill, Burge worked at Sky Betting & Gaming for close to three years, and at CPP Group for nine years.
