Young tennis player advancing in Miami Open.

Online payment service AstroPay on Friday said it will sponsor Francisco Cerundolo, a rising tennis player from Argentina.

Cerundolo, 23, has advanced to the semifinals of the Miami Open tennis tournament.

According to AstroPay, Cerundolo will wear a cap adorned with the company’s logo during his Friday match.

The Argentinian is scheduled to play Casper Ruud, from Norway.

Cerundolo, whose hometown is Buenos Aires, is playing the best tennis of his life during this tournament. His world ranking has climbed from 103 to 51 as he has advanced through the draw.

Ruud, also 23, already is an established player. He has won a number of ATP tournaments and is ranked No. 8 in the world.

Ruud is a prohibitive -640 favorite in today’s match, while the moneyline on Cerundolo is +415.

In a statement, the company said: “AstroPay is proud to sponsor Francisco Cerundolo as he makes history as the first player of his ranking to reach the semifinals of an ATP1000 tournament, the Miami Open.”

AstroPay CEO Mikael Lijtenstein added: “We are thrilled to support Francisco in the Miami Open and very proud of his achievement for making it through to the semifinals. We wish him all the best in his game on Friday and hope he makes it to the finals.”

AstroPay made news earlier this week with its announcement of a sponsorship deal of operator Pinnacle’s flagship esports tournament, Pinnacle Cup III.

AstroPay currently is available worldwide, serving customers in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The company has offices in the UK and Latin America, with more than 5 million users, 1,000 merchants, and more than 200 payment methods.
