With iGaming set to launch in Ontario on April 4, a deluge of operators and suppliers have announced their intentions to provide offerings in the province. One of these operators is LeoVegas, which is set to offer casino, live casino and sports betting under the LeoVegas and Royal Panda brands.
This news comes after the company was granted an operator license by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). Following this announcement, the operator must now enter into an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario.
CEO of LeoVegas Group Gustaf Hagman said: “Over recent years, the LeoVegas brand has become the third most well-known casino brand in the Canadian market and Royal Panda has shown strong growth - a clear sign that the mobile gaming experience we offer is appreciated by North American customers.
“Our full focus now is to complete the process and we look forward to launch in a regulated environment. Given our track record and knowledge to operate in regulated markets we continue to have high expectations and ambitions for continued growth in the Ontario market”.
The decision to launch in Ontario matches with LeoVegas’ strategy of North American expansion; the operator is also set to launch in New Jersey later this year.
With a population equivalent to that of the United States’ fifth-largest state, Ontario is set to rival some of the largest gaming jurisdictions in North America come launch in April.
LeoVegas is one of just a number of operators set to go live in April, with PointsBet and theScore also part of the list.
