Gaming & Technology Expo confirms vibrant academic content

March 4, 2022

Two weeks before the inauguration of the Colombian trade show, which will celebrate its 23rd edition integrating the regional and international gaming industry, the pending tasks are being fine-tuned to make GAT Expo 2022 a commercial event that will mark a milestone in the return to face-to-face attendance.
The organization announces that due to the demand of places to attend the academic conferences of GAT and the impossibility of accommodating more than 200 people in the Pegasos Hall as planned, the conferences have been moved to the renowned Getsemaní Auditorium in the same Cartagena de Indias Convention Center. This auditorium is the scene of world-class events, epicenter of private and public corporate events, presidential summits, international literature congresses, film festivals and much more.
The GAT Academy will begin on Tuesday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. with a welcome speech by José Aníbal Aguirre, creator and organizer of the Colombian fair. Afterwards, the President of Coljuegos, César Valencia Galiano, will present a balance of the entity under his charge, and the prospects for collection and growth in 2022. In this first section of the morning, the Presidents of Asojuegos, Cornazar and Fecoljuegos will speak.
The confirmed presence of businessmen from more than 20 countries, national and international gaming associations such as ALEA, AIEJA and the Dominican Association of Gaming Casinos, Caribbean operators, analysts and experts in digital transformation, ensure the success of GAT's academic component.

Conferences: Casino, Sports Betting, eSports and Affiliates.

Colombian Associations
Asojuegos, Fecoljuegos and Cornazar will make presentations and participate in panels in which they will present their criteria, analysis, achievements and current situation of the gaming operation in the country and their expectations in the medium and long term. Their presidents are special guests at the opening ceremonies of both the academic and commercial meetings at the exposition.
On Wednesday, March 16, in the morning, Cornazar and Fecoljuegos will hold their affiliates' assemblies in the same convention center in the General Secretariat and Arsenal Halls.
Regarding the participation of Fecoljuegos, its President, Evert Montero Cárdenas, said: "Face-to-face meetings are extremely powerful. Strategic allies and suppliers need to be connected in a business environment. We see GAT Expo as an important showcase for entrepreneurs and this time we have the opportunity to enjoy the fair in Colombia as has been traditional every year; this, besides being an event awaited by the industry, has served as a thermometer to measure current issues and specific interest of the sector.
For this reason, within the framework of this event we will hold our XXI Ordinary General Assembly. In addition, Fecoljuegos proposed that GAT Cartagena should host a Business Roundtable with the participation of renowned law firms in Latin America and Europe, a business roundtable that we are leading together with our legal advisory office V&I Consultores.
We have also proposed two important lectures: "Advertising of games of chance: Regulation or self-regulation? Experience Spain - Colombia" and "Modernization of the regulation of Games of Chance" attending to the interest of the industry on these topics.
We also know that a great part of the industry will be participating and we have knowledge that many international companies will be present; this is fundamental in the development of the operation due to the updating of topics and alliances that are constituted there".

International Business and Regulatory Roundtable
Tatiana Vásquez, Managing Partner of V&I Consultores, comments: "Leading attorneys from Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Spain and Colombia will be participating in the event to discuss current regulations and the prospects of new regulations in their countries and in the region. Those who wish to attend should make an appointment to define the legal team that will address their concerns. This academic event will take place on March 16, between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm at a stand located in the online exhibition area in the Claustro de las Ánimas. We are very excited about this exchange of knowledge, so important for entrepreneurs and investors."
