PointsBet, an Australian sports betting operator with an expanding presence in North America, has become one of the first companies to receive approval to operate iGaming and sports betting in Ontario.
The approval comes from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and will allow the operator to launch its offering when iGaming arrives in the province on April 4, 2022.

PointsBet Canada is one of a number operators to announce approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario this week, with theScore Bet also confirming the decision.

The operator is currently making a number of inroads into the Canadian sports betting market. This week has seen the company become the official sportsbook of Alpine Canada, the representative of Canada’s ski racing teams.
