PointsBet, an iGaming and sports betting operator with a growing platform in the United States, has partnered with Women in Sports Tech (WiST). This agreement will see WiST aid PointsBet in furthering the role of women across its business including in the sport, technology and innovation sectors.
Per the terms of the partnership, WiST will produce live and virtual programs, events and new internships to empower women across the PointsBet brand. Moreover, as a partner, the operator will gain access to fireside chats and panels with veteran executives.
PointsBet Chief of People, Rachelle Carpenter, clearly sees the importance of initiatives such as these.
She said: "As a rapidly growing sports technology business ourselves, we at PointsBet feel it is critically important to welcome more women into this industry and ensure a more inclusive environment for women interested in pursuing a career in sports tech.
"I look forward to working with Marilou and the WiST team in what I'm sure will be a very positive and beneficial partnership for all."
PointsBet will also be expected to work towards WiST’s goals by organizing job fairs for middle and high school students.
"We are firmly committed to doing our part to ensure women feel empowered to contribute and take part in this lucrative industry," added PointsBet Chief Executive Officer, Johnny Aitken.
"As we continue to build upon our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, our partnership with WiST will be a very important piece of that puzzle."
This news follows a clear strategy from PointsBet to promote a sense of inclusion and diversity at the company. Indeed, this past month has seen the brand announce a new Vice President of Diversity Equity and Inclusion in Dr Eric Lee.
