Media Troopers, a marketing agency specializing in promoting legal online gambling in the US, is now live in New York. The company brings online sports betting expertise.
It started promoting in the state during the first regulated sportsbooks this past weekend.
Media Troopers has long-standing partnerships across the US with top sportsbooks. It will promote its partners and provide marketing and content to new audiences.
These sportsbooks received licensing from the New York State Gambling Commission (NYSGC) after a long period following the legalizing bill passed online sports betting in New York during November. The logistics of New York state’s unique online sports betting laws meant that sportsbooks needed some time to meet regulatory standards.
Four sportsbooks were ready when online sports betting officially went live this week on January 8. DraftKings, Rush Street Interactive, FanDuel, and Caesars Sportsbook took the first legal online wagers in the state.
“Media Troopers has been operating in nearly every US state where online gambling is legal, including New York’s neighboring states such as Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and others,” said MediaTroopers CEO Shmulik Segal. “So, adding New York to our portfolio is an exciting milestone that allows us to provide services to new audiences on the East Coast.”
When asked about the future potential of the state, Segal said, “There are five more sportsbooks with provisional licenses from the NYSGC. These sportsbooks are working towards meeting the licensing requirements, and when this happens, the New York sports betting market could grow exponentially.”
New York is the fourth most populous state in the US, and experts anticipate it to become one of the biggest online sports betting states in the coming years.
“Media Troopers has seen launches of many states, but what’s the most amazing thing about this launch is the timing, right ahead of the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl,” said Segal. “So, although we won’t know specific numbers for a few weeks, we are confident that the launch in NY will be one of the biggest we’ve seen.”
