Deal comes on the heels of highly anticipated legalization of sports betting in New York.

The Buffalo Bills and the FanDuel Group have announced that they will be entering into a multi-year partnership. This comes on the heals of the industry-shattering news that legal sports betting is at last coming to New York state and is due to go live on January 8.

As per the deal, FanDuel will become the official betting partner of the Bills, one of the NFL’s most storied franchises. FanDuel will be able to use the official Bills logo and have a direct line to fans through a range of the Bills’ media assets, including television spots, radio spots and in-game signage at Highmark Stadium.

The betting giant will also sponsor and present a podcast entitled Bills by the Numbers, hosted by Steve Tasker and Chris Brown, which will discuss both the team and fantasy matchups.

Mike Raffensperger, CMO at FanDuel, sees the deal as an important opportunity as betting companies jockey to take advantage of the massive New York market. He commented: “The Bills take pride in being a culture that is built on genuine connection with their fans, and we are absurdly fan-focused at FanDuel, making this a natural collaboration.

“As we prepare to bring America’s #1 sportsbook to New York state, we will collaborate with the Bills to bring unique content and experiences to one of the most loyal fanbases in sports.”

FanDuel is one of four sportsbooks who were offered licenses to operate in New York come January 8, the others being Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings and Rush Street Interactive. In time, five more licenses are expected to be awarded.
