The acquisition is expected to expand the corporation's digital offerings.

Rhode Island-based Bally’s Corporation has purchased Degree 53, a British software and gaming app developer, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition is expected to significantly improve Bally’s integrated mobile platforms, helping it to better engage costumers in the digital space.

Degree 53 – based in Manchester, England – brings with it an award-winning track record of web design for online gambling and sports betting. It has worked with some of the largest players in the industry, such as Betfred, Scientific Games, FDJ Gaming Solutions, and Penn National. Additionally, it holds a Remote Gambling Software license in the UK and is an associate member of the European Lotteries. Of its 54-strong team of technical and design personnel, all are expected to remain.

Bally’s is hoping to use this expertise to improve its global omni-channel offering and integrate its diverse mobile platforms. Specifically, Degree 53 will be helping Bally’s improve Gamesys Group’s player account management, audience engagement with its Monkey Knife Fight and SportCaller platforms, and support the further development of the corporation’s media partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Said Raja B-Sheikh, Bally International’s Senior Vice President of Sports Products: “We have ambitious plans for our multi-faceted sports offering as we strive to appeal to new audiences across North America. The Degree 53 team arms us with a unique perspective and skillset that will further advance not only the core Bally Sports product, but also our ambitious plans for innovative and connected experiences. I am excited to work closely with the team as they contribute to our quest of making Bally’s the number one destination for gaming entertainment.”
