Sports content and betting platform Barstool Sports has today announced the creation of a new channel in collaboration with the streaming service Sling TV. Available to both Sling subscribers and Sling Free users, the platform will show sports and pop culture content including coverage and analysis of the latest sporting events.
A number of productions will begin showing on the streaming service including the Barstool College Football Show, the Pro Football Football Show, One Bite Pizza Reviews, Pardon My Take and Call Him Pap with David Ortiz and Jared Carrabis. Sling TV will also produce an exclusive offering titled The Brandon Walker College Football Show.
"We're thrilled to partner with Barstool Sports to bring the new Barstool Sports Channel to streaming TV audiences across America, giving broader exposure to their highly engaging content and personalities," said Michael Schwimmer, group president, Sling TV. "We're confident that Barstool's incredibly engaged and loyal audience will embrace the Sling experience, where we continually push the boundaries in streaming live and on-demand TV."
Per the agreement, Sling sponsorships will appear at a number of college football games including Washington at Michigan, Wisconsin at Notre Dame, Notre Dame at Virginia Tech, Ohio State at Indiana, and Army vs. Navy at MetLife Stadium at the Meadowlands in New Jersey.
"Having our own channel on Sling is another way for Barstool to continue to move the goalpost and break barriers in broadcast and streaming," said Erika Nardini, CEO, Barstool Sports. "We are ready to bring both Barstool and Sling's engaged audiences our content and personalities in time for the college and pro football seasons, and much more."
Recently, Barstool launched its sportsbook in New Jersey and the sports betting platform is also available in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, Colorado, Virginia, New Jersey and Indiana. The company has also applied for a betting license in New York and hopes to launch its offering in other states before the start of this years’ NFL season on September 9.
