Will curate luxury entertainment experiences for sports betting customers.

DraftKings has announced this week that the sports betting platform will enter a strategic partnership with sports viewing and catering company Sports & Social. The agreement will see the two work to create upscale sports bars, beginning in Nashville and Detroit.

DraftKings aims to merge a sportsbook experience with that of high-end dining, providing a new experience for patrons. These venues will be designed by design and development firm ICRAVE.

DraftKings currently operates both online and in retail in 14 states and has partnerships with a number of sports teams.

Sports & Social work under the ownership of The Cordish Companies which, founded in 1910, has grown to become a recognized name in gaming, real estate and sports.

“Today, so much of sports betting is focused on the mobile-technology aspect, however, the in-person experience is an integral layer that we look forward to advancing alongside Sports & Social’s premier dining and entertainment offerings,” said Ezra Kucharz, chief business officer at DraftKings. “By aligning with one of the fastest-growing entertainment concepts in the country, we now have the opportunity to bring our world-class products to life by offering engaging, interactive and fan-first destinations to skin-in-the-game customers.”

Reed Cordish, principal of The Cordish Companies added: “DraftKings is an industry leader in sports betting and entertainment, and we are incredibly excited to work with them to bring this new experience to life. We are always looking to create new and innovative experiences for our guests and this collaboration will allow us an exciting opportunity to do so, bringing an incredible premier sports-watching experience with sports betting all under one roof.”

DraftKings also announced this week the signing of a deal for it to become the official fantasy sports partner for the Boston Red Sox. The platform will see its brand featured around Fenway Park and be promoted through emails and on the team’s website.
