Casino giant Las Vegas Sands is launching a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign to push for casino legislation in Texas.

The advert will aim to inform Texas natives on why they should back the legislation, which will allow the construction of four casinos and resorts in the Lone Star State.

The campaign will also explain to listeners the consequences of tough laws against gambling and casinos, as the state house committee reviews proposals on gambling in Texas.

One of the ads will say: "This November, the Legislature can allow Texans to vote to build four world-class destination resorts and casinos, bringing those dollars back to Texas.

"Let’s boost our economy, create tens of thousands of jobs and help fund vital services like schools and public safety."

Las Vegas Sands is backing the legislation that would allow Texans to vote on whether they want four destination resorts in four different areas of Texas.

The operator is set to air the TV and radio ads on Thursday in the state’s biggest markets, where the casinos are set to be located.

Las Vegas Sands has been working on a website and social media account to support the campaign. It has already spent millions to hire lobbyists to help persuade lawmakers on the expansion of gambling venues in Texas.

The committee is currently reviewing the idea of expansion; Las Vegas Sands has backed one of these proposals and the company has picked up some support for proposals it sent in early March.
