The acquisition will assist DraftKings in growing its multimedia sportsbetting capabilities through implementation of VSiN products. The multimedia content provider produces upwards of 18 hours of unique sports betting content per day across live streams and audio and video platforms. Following the acquisition DraftKings will integrate all VSiN verticals and current staff structures.
“VSiN creates authentic and credible content that resonates with sports bettors at every level, whether they’re experienced or new to sports betting,” commented Jason Robins, co-founder, CEO and chairman of DraftKings.
“In addition to its brand equity among sports bettors and engaging talent rosters, VSiN also has an established infrastructure that DraftKings can immediately help expand, in the hopes of adding value to consumers who are looking to become more knowledgeable about sports betting,” he added.
VSiN was founded in 2017 as a premium content destination primarily aimed at sports bettors. The company will reportedly retain editorial independence as part of its integration, but will be able to leverage the rapidly-growing DraftKings player base to increase its viewership in the US.
The sports betting operator enjoyed a 30% market share in US online sports betting, 19% of iGaming, and is currently active in more US states than any other operator.
“We created VSiN as a destination for sports bettors to find the most credible content to help inform their wagering decisions,” said Brian Musburger, CEO of VSiN. “Harnessing the power and network of the DraftKings brand will allow us to reach an even wider audience with our unique content.”
