Massachusetts Gaming Commission reports $98.69m casino revenue for November

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) released its latest monthly revenue figures, reporting combined casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) of approximately $98.69m for November 2025.
The total was generated by the state’s three licensed casinos: Plainridge Park Casino, MGM Springfield and Encore Boston Harbor.
Plainridge Park Casino, which operates as a Category 2 slots facility, is subject to a 49% tax rate on GGR, with the majority of proceeds directed to local aid and the Race Horse Development Fund.
MGM Springfield and Encore Boston Harbor, both Category 1 resort casinos, are taxed at 25%, with revenues allocated across several state-designated funds.
Since the opening of the state’s casino properties, Massachusetts has collected around $2.27bn in total casino-related taxes and assessments.
In sports wagering, the MGC reported approximately $94.94m in taxable sports wagering revenue (TSWR) for November. This figure includes activity from three retail sportsbooks operated by the casinos, as well as seven licensed mobile operators, including DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM.
Retail operators are taxed at 15% of TSWR, while mobile sportsbooks are taxed at a higher rate of 20%.
Tax proceeds from sports betting are distributed across multiple public initiatives, including the General Fund, Workforce Investment Trust Fund and Public Health Trust Fund.
Since the launch of sports wagering in early 2023, the Commonwealth has collected approximately $372.3m in sports betting taxes and assessments.
The November figures follow recent regulatory developments in the state. Earlier this year, MGC continued discussions around player wager limits, while also responding to an audit highlighting oversight and responsible gambling concerns.
