Lotería Correntina conducted a prevention and awareness session focused on responsible gaming for high school students in Laguna Brava, Argentina, addressing compulsive gambling risks and illegal online gaming operations.
The initiative targeted fifth and sixth-year students at Padre Juan Guido Lucchelli Catholic Private School.
The workshop emphasized risks associated with early screen exposure, problematic technology use among minors and detection of illegal online gambling platforms. Officials identified illegal online gaming as one of the fastest-growing phenomena in the digital environment, affecting young people.
The session included participation from professionals at the Youth Directorate of the Provincial Ministry of Social Development. Dr. Gustavo Gómez, who leads the therapeutic program El Camino, provided an interdisciplinary perspective on risk factors and prevention strategies during the presentation.
The educational activity operates under a cooperation agreement between the Corrientes Lottery Institute and the Provincial Ministry of Education. The framework establishes the development of educational activities, training programs and awareness campaigns designed to promote healthy habits, strengthen digital competencies and prevent risk behaviors related to gambling.
The program represents part of Corrientes Province’s broader regulatory approach to gaming activities. Provincial lottery operators in Argentina maintain responsibility for promoting responsible gaming practices within their jurisdictions while working to identify and address illegal gambling operations that fall outside regulatory oversight.
