Tribal operator will enforce masking, social distancing health protocols.

In the latest sign the world is emerging from its long, dark Covid winter, Sycuan Casino Resort on Tuesday said it will reopen its outdoor pool venue on 29 March.

The Tribal resort is located in El Cajon, California, just 15 miles northeast of San Diego.

Sycuan said its Retreat Pool & Cabanas will be open daily from 9am to 6pm. The space will be reserved largely for hotel guests, with a limited number of day passes for sale.

All health protocols the resort has in place will be enforced in the Retreat area throughout the 2021 season to ensure a safe environment, officials said.

Upon entering the venue, guests must check in with a host to receive towels. Then they’ll be escorted to their chair, daybed or cabana. All guests will be required to wear a face mask unless they are seated, using the pool, eating or drinking.

Sycuan said chairs and daybeds have been spread out to maintain physical distancing between guests.

The Retreat area includes two pools, a swim-up bar, lazy river, hot tub, daybeds, cabanas and a full-service pool bar & grill.

Officials said they are planning to bring back poolside entertainment and events later in the season, including Dive In Movie Night on Fridays and a concept known as Saturday Night Swim.
