BetMGM ceasing operations of retail sportsbook at Nationals Park

BetMGM will officially be closing down its retail sportsbook location at Nationals Park in Washington DC, originally debuting the facility in 2022 and representing the first sportsbook to be attached to an MLB stadium.

The facility included six betting windows, 17 self-service kiosks and a full bar, opening one year after the operator launched mobile betting operations in Washington DC. Prior to Washington DC lawmakers opening the online sports betting market in 2024, residents were able to place online wagers only within a two-block radius of Nationals Park.

On August 27, the Phoenix Suns NBA franchise partnered with FanDuel to launch a new members-only lounge for the Suns’ first home preseason game, spanning 6,000 sq ft with an outdoor terrace, full-service kitchen and packaged food & beverage marketplace.
The space will be open to PayPal SixthMan members as well as season ticket holders of the franchise, located in the area formerly reserved for a FanDuel retail sportsbook in PHX arena.
