The Maroñas National Racetrack in Uruguay hosted a major racing program that launched the National Triple Crown series and featured classic events to select Uruguay’s representatives for upcoming international competitions.
The day was attended by officials from state casinos and the National Government.
The highlight of the program was the Clásico Las Piedras, where Olympic Olympic secured first place, followed by Master Of Puppets in second. Both horses earned the right to represent Uruguay in the forthcoming Gran Premio Latinoamericano, which brings together champions from across the region.

The event also launched the road to the Triple Crown with the first two races for three-year-olds. La Polla de Potrancas was won by Tantan Royal, ridden by jockey Hector Lazo and bred and owned by Haras Phillipson.
La Polla de Potrillos went to Tadow Star, guided by jockey Luis A. Cáceres, also representing Haras Phillipson. Both winners established themselves as contenders for the remaining legs of the series.
Authorities from Casinos del Estado and the National Government attended the races and took part in the trophy ceremonies, underscoring institutional support for horseracing in Uruguay.
