Illinois casino revenue rises 24.3% to $174m for August 2025

The Illinois Gaming Board has reported the state’s casino activity throughout August 2025, as adjusted gross revenue (AGR) increased 24.3% for a total of $174m, assisted by the recent unveiling of Wind Creek Chicago Southland and the expansion of Fairmount Park.
Rivers Casino Des Plaines generated the highest revenue for all Illinois casinos across the monthly period, reporting $41.9m and representing the only property to eclipse $20m in AGR despite witnessing a decrease of 3.7% year-over-year.
Having transitioned to a permanent facility in August 2024, Hard Rock Casino Rockford generated a revenue increase of 129.5% from the prior year period for a total of $13m. Wind Creek Chicago Southland, Grand Victoria Casino and Bally’s Chicago produced August 2025 revenues of $17.1m, $12.6m and $11.3m, respectively, equating to increases of 5.6% and 5.1% for the latter two operators.
Full House Resorts’ Illinois facility generated a revenue increase of 18.4% from the prior year period for August 2025, accounting for just over $10.9m of revenue while Harrah’s Joliet Casino remained stagnant with $11m in AGR.
Hollywood Casino Aurora and Hollywood Casino Juliet reported August 2025 revenues of $9.4m and $11.2m, respectively, equating 4.8% and 46.7% year-over-year. DraftKings at Casino Queen generated nearly $7.3m of revenue for August 2025, representing a slight increase of 0.9%.

The total monthly AGR reported by the Illinois Gaming Board was primarily driven by electronic gaming devices (EGD) activity, which accounted for nearly $137m of the total revenue for Illinois casinos, representing a 28.3% increase from the prior year period. Despite reporting an increase in revenue of 11.4% for August 2025, table games activity represented just $37m of the state’s total casino revenue for the period.
Rivers Casino managed to account for the highest table games AGR of any property, reporting $13.5m while Bally’s Chicago and Wild Creek Chicago Southland were distant runner-ups with just over $4.1m and $3.7m, respectively.
The Churchill Downs-majority owned property also accounted for the highest EGD revenue for all Illinois casinos by generating $28.3m throughout August 2025, over $15m higher than Wind Creek Chicago Southland which produced $13.3m of EGD revenue.
