Good Giant and Two by Four have announced Dave Kissel’s appointment as Chief Executive Officer of the combined group, owned by Merit Capital Partners and Six Pillars Partners.
Kissel transitions from his position as Managing Director at DDB Chicago, where he spent over a decade.
The appointment represents the inaugural executive hire for the newly formed private advertising agency holding group. Kissel will work alongside the existing leadership team, which includes Rich Sullivan as CEO of Good Giant and David Stevenson as CEO of Two by Four.
This appointment seeks to support the growing role of independent agency holdings, which show different performance characteristics compared to larger conglomerates due to their agility, specialization, and client focus.
Dave Kissel stated: “I’m thrilled to join Good Giant and Two by Four, with their stellar teams and creative legacies. Drawing on my diverse experience across agencies, media, and start-ups, and inspired by pioneers like Bill Bernbach and Keith Reinhard, I’m committed to amplifying the remarkable work already underway.
“We are going to harness creativity, data, and digital innovation to deliver measurable results for our clients and create a powerhouse in the independent agency holding space.”
Good to know: Good Giant was originally created through a partnership between Foundry in Nevada and Red Square Agency in Alabama
During his time at DDB Chicago, Kissel oversaw strategic operations, creative projects, and cultural programs. He also served as DDB’s Global Business Lead for McDonald’s, working on creative effectiveness and customer relationship management. His experience includes leadership roles in agencies, media companies, and startup businesses.
Ben Yarbrough, Managing Director at Merit Capital Partners, commented: “Dave’s extensive leadership across agencies, media companies, and start-ups makes him uniquely qualified to lead Good Giant and Two by Four in building the next great independent agency holding group.
“His strategic vision and ability to develop high-performing teams will complement our leadership and drive transformative growth, delivering exceptional value to our clients.”
