DraftKings appoints Jennifer Aguiar as chief compliance officer

Fantasy sports and gaming giant appoints long-time risk and compliance leader into senior role.
DraftKings has appointed Jennifer Aguiar to the role of chief compliance officer.
The executive joined the brand in 2016 as head of compliance and risk, and will now be responsible for overseeing corporate compliance and enterprise risk management for the firm.
A Bridgewater State University graduate, Aguiar currently serves on the executive and advisory boards of the Ricciardi College of Business at the university.
Aguiar also previously served as DraftKings’ VP for compliance and risk; she will now report directly to the operator’s CEO Jason Robins.
Former chief complaince officer Tim Dent will now move into the position of SVP, regulatory operations, although he will then transition into a consultant role later in 2021.
Robins said: “Jennifer has been an instrumental asset to our organization, successfully navigating the company through the emergence of daily fantasy sports and the state-by-state licensing and regulatory process.
“The compliance framework developed by Jennifer has been a critical element in positioning DraftKings to enter new states quickly following the legalization of sports betting and online gaming.
“She has created a culture of compliance at DraftKings and will continue to play a pivotal role in the company’s growth.”
