The National Lottery Council of the Dominican Republic has issued a formal statement supporting the draft gambling reform bill submitted by the Executive Branch to the country’s Congress.
In a letter addressed to Senate President Ricardo de los Santos and the President of the Chamber of Deputies Alfredo Pacheco, the Council has emphasized the bill’s potential to enhance control, transparency and enforcement in the sector.
The proposed legislation includes, among other regulating propositions, the establishment of the General Board of Gambling, which would be a new body tasked with overseeing and regulating gambling activities nationwide.
The Council described this as a critical step toward ensuring effective sanctions and providing society with more robust institutional mechanisms.
