Tribal leaders position gaming and business ventures for future developments.
Key Points
- Jenni Wildcat appointed CEO of Wind River Hotel & Casino, bringing two decades of experience in Tribal gaming
- Shawn Brown named CEO of Arapaho First to oversee a range of Tribe-operated businesses
The Northern Arapaho Business Council (NABC) has announced two major leadership appointments aimed at focusing on the Tribe’s economic ventures.
Jenni Wildcat has been named Chief Executive Officer of the Wind River Hotel & Casino, the Tribe’s flagship gaming enterprise. An enrolled Northern Arapaho Member, Ms. Wildcat brings over 20 years of experience in Tribal gaming regulation and operations. Most recently, she served as a regulatory official overseeing compliance with federal secretarial procedures.
She succeeds Patrick Leckrone, who had led the Casino and gaming enterprise since 2022. NABC expressed gratitude for Mr. Leckrone’s service and voiced confidence in Ms. Wildcat’s ability to guide the enterprise forward.
In a separate announcement, the NABC named Shawn Brown as CEO of Arapaho First, the Tribe’s business development arm. Mr. Brown previously served as Manager of Northern Arapaho Propane & Solid Waste.
Good to know: Wind River Hotel & Casino is one of Wyoming’s largest tourism and entertainment destinations while Arapaho First supports local employment and services
The NABC stated: “The Northern Arapaho Business Council thanks Mr. Leckrone for his leadership and service to the Tribe, and we wish him well.
This is a pivotal time for the Wind River Hotel & Casino and each of our gaming facilities, and we know Jenni Wildcat is the right person to lead the enterprise going forward.”
Shawn Brown is a longtime Northern Arapaho employee who has proven himself and is well-qualified to lead Arapaho First.
“His innovative leadership is critical to help ensure the success of Tribe-operated businesses during this time of economic uncertainty.”
In late 2022, the Northern Arapaho proposed Class III gaming on state-owned school trust land to generate K–12 education funding, with a bill anticipated in January 2023 and revenues aimed at benefiting Fremont and Natrona counties.
