Multiple offshore gambling operators targeted by MGCB

Following investigations, it was determined the offshore operators were actively soliciting and accepting wagers on traditional casino games and sports betting without licenses or regulation.
Key Points
- The unlicensed platforms include BetFlip, BetMania, Casino Castle, Casino Extreme, Casobet Casino, EmuCasino, Golden Lion, Gossip Slots, Irish Luck Casino, Juicy Stakes, Juicy Stakes.eu, Lotus Asia Casino, Red Lion Casino and SlotGems Casino
- The MGCB has ordered each operator to cease all gaming activity involving Michigan residents immediately, with a 14-day period to comply or risk escalated legal action
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has sent 14 cease-and-desist letters to offshore gambling operators for unlawfully targeting Michigan residents using gaming types ranging from traditional casino games to sports betting.
The unlicensed platforms reportedly include BetFlip, BetMania, Casino Castle, Casino Extreme, Casobet Casino, EmuCasino, Golden Lion, Gossip Slots, Irish Luck Casino, Juicy Stakes, Juicy Stakes.eu, Lotus Asia Casino, Red Lion Casino and SlotGems Casino.
“These sites operate in the shadows of the law, offering no guarantees to players and no accountability to the public,” MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams said.
“The MGCB’s enforcement efforts are both relentless and unwavering. We will continue to identify and take action against illegal gambling operations that threaten the integrity of our regulated market and place Michigan residents at risk.”
Good to know: The MGCB officially issued a cease-and-desist letter to BetUS for accepting wagers from Michigan residents on various gambling activities on May 7, including sports and casino-style games, without the necessary state authorization
Following investigations, the MGCB determined these offshore operators were actively soliciting and accepting wagers without being licensed or regulated within the state, which violates the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act and the Michigan Penal Code.
The MGCB has ordered each operator to cease all gaming activity involving Michigan residents immediately, including a 14-day window to comply or face escalated legal action in partnership with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.
