Brazil: Betting sector nearly triples digital ad spend in 2024

A study published by IAB Brasil and Kantar Ibope Media reveals that the gaming industry almost tripled its digital advertising investment in 2024, showing a 192% increase compared to 2023.
This was the highest growth rate among all sectors analysed in Brazil, followed by education (43%) and automotive (33%).
The Digital AdSpend 2025 report estimates that total investment in digital advertising in Brazil reached BR37.9bn in 2024, up 8% compared to the previous year. The study includes ad spending across 1600 websites, platforms and social media channels such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, but also cinema, newspapers and magazines.
Researchers attribute the growth in the betting sector to the boom in virtual casinos and the popularity of games like Fortune Tiger (Jogo do Tigrinho), which was highly marketed by Brazilian influencers.

Social media continues to lead in ad spend distribution, getting 53% of the gaming and betting sector’s advertising. Google follows with 28%, while 19% of investment goes to other sites and formats.
In terms of content types, video dominated with 42% of ad allocation, followed by image (30%) and search (28%). Mobile devices were the primary platform for ad delivery, accounting 74% of impressions.
