Altenar certified to distribute virtual sports in Brazil

The provider is now set to roll out both its sportsbook and RGS offerings in the Brazilian market.
Key Points
- Altenar has officially obtained a license to distribute virtual sports offerings in Brazil
- This certification follows a stringent compliance evaluation process
- The supplier is currently moving through a phase of global expansion
Supplier Altenar has announced expansive moves in the LatAm sportsbook landscape following its confirmation of virtual sports licensure in the Brazilian market.
Following this certification, Altenar will now be able to distribute its virtual sports offerings to operators local to the region. Indeed, Altenar’s recently acquired Brazilian virtual sports license comes following a rigorous evaluation process to ensure compliance with the nation’s new regulations.
Sports betting in Brazil has continued to hit its stride during recent years and now, following the recent regulation of the sector, space for virtual sports offerings in the market has continued to proliferate.
Speaking on the development Dinos Doxiadis, Director of Product – Sportsbook and Data at Altenar, said, “We are thrilled to achieve certification for virtual sports in Brazil. This marks another significant step in our growth across Latin America and reinforces our commitment to the burgeoning region.
“By joining forces with some of the industry’s most renowned providers, we are confident in our ability to deliver an unparalleled virtual sports experience to operators and players in Brazil. This offering will complement our existing sportsbook solutions and provide further opportunities for engagement and growth in this key market.”
This latest expansive measure comes following the supplier’s entry into the Canadian market in 2022, shortly after the official regulation of gambling in Ontario. Following on from this, Altenar partnered with GanaPlay as part of a collaboration spanning across the LatAm region.
Good to know: During Q1 2025, Altenar also set its sights on EU expansion – gaining licenses for the Danish market as well as entering the Czech Republic
Further, March saw the supplier entered into a new partnership which saw the integration of Inspired’s virtual sports product offerings to the Altenar platform.
As such, this collaborative effort marked Altenar’s first foray into the virtual sports space ahead of this latest development in the Brazilian market.
