Michigan iGaming revenue hits $293.5m during March 2025, increases 14.2% year-over-year

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has reported the state’s iGaming and internet sports betting gross gaming revenue (GGR) throughout March 2025, with the total having increased by 14.2% year-over-year to $293.5m.
During the month of march, Michigan recorded its highest iGaming GGR since the vertical was legalized, generating $260.5m which equates to an increase of 21.2% from the prior year period and suprasses the $248.2m produced for January 2025.
Internet ports betting failed to see similar success, however, as the gaming type’s GGR throughout March 2025 was reported to be $33m, decreasing by 21.3% year-over-year.
The state’s monthly internet sports betting handle was $475.1m, which represents a decrease of 1.1% from the prior year period, but an increase of 25.1% from what the MGCB reported during February 2025.
Operators reported submitting $51.4m in state taxes and payments for March 2025, including iGaming taxes and fees of $50.5m while internet sports betting accounted for nearly $874.1k.
Detroit’s three commercial casinos reported $13.4m in wagering taxes and municipal services fees paid to the City of Detroit throughout March 2025, with iGaming contributing more than $13.1m to the total.

Combined adjusted gross receipts (AGR) for iGaming and internet sports betting reached $260.7m during March 2025, of which $246.1m was generated from iGaming while $14.6m came from internet sports betting. The figure for iGaming represents an increase of 26.5% year-over-year, while online sports betting decreased by 45.3% from the prior year period.
As of March 2025, 15 commercial and tribal operators have been authorized to offer iGaming and/or internet sports betting in Michigan, with 12 operators currently offering internet sports betting and 15 offering iGaming.
Tribal operators were also reported to have made $6m in payments to respective governing bodies throughout March 2025.
