Construction begins at Boyd Gaming’s Las Vegas Valley casino

The Cadence Crossing casino development project is set to open by mid-2026.

Executives from Boyd Gaming have officially begun construction on the organization’s new Las Vegas Valley casino development project with ceremonial dirt shovelling.  

Following the initial unveiling of development plans in February, company executives were also joined by the Henderson City Council for the beginning of the project’s construction. Upon its completion, Cadence Crossing Casino will contain 450 slot machines, alongside a number of food outlets which are, at present, still in the stage of being planned.  

The new development is set to replace Jokers Wild on Boulder Highway – which is set to continue operation until the opening of Cadence Crossing, which is set to be built over a number of development phases. In total, the project contains a 50,000 square-foot development area, containing a 10,000 square-foot casino. This latest project also represents Boyd’s first new development in 20 years.  

In attendance at the ceremony was Henderson City Mayer Michelle Romero, who said, ““I’m so pleased to be here today in such good company to join you on the groundbreaking for this amazing project, and to give you an idea of how long I’ve been here, I remember when Jokers Wild was built. Last fall, we began work on the reimagined Boulder Highway project, and the $170 million investment on these 7½ miles will have a positive impact across many facets of our community.” 

Good to know: In February, Boyd Gaming released its FY24 financial report, highlighting a revenue figure of $3.9bn for the year  

Earlier in the year, Boyd Gaming also donated $200,000 to non-profit organizations accorss the US – marking the 17th consecutive year in which the company also held its Wreaths of Trees and Hope competition.
