Arizona Department of Gaming issues customer alert regarding illegal online casino growth

The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) has issued a Consumer Protection Alert to highlight the growing number of illegal online casinos offering games of chance to players in the state.
Online casinos are still illegal in the state, therefore, any claims of a legal website are to be “treated as highly suspicious”.
These websites can use branding that imitates well-known operators, such as using company names, logos and similar URLs.
A full list of licensed casino, event wagering and fantasy sports operators can be found on the Department’s website.
Good to know: If a customer encounters a problem after playing at an unlicensed casino, the ADG will be unable to resolve any complaints or financial disputes
Customers who play at illegal and unregulated casinos are in danger of opening their accounts to unauthorized transactions, identity theft or other forms of fraud.
As the Consumer Protection Alert explains, “it is important to remember that just because you can download the app, visit the website, and play the games, it does not mean it is a legitimate and legal gaming platform”.
Players who encounter illegal gambling sites are encouraged to report any website URLs, apps, business names or promotional materials to the ADG.
