LGS warns residents of fake advertisements for online casinos
The regulator stated that none of the Land-based casinos in Saskatchewan have online offerings of its casino games.

Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan (LGS) has begun warning residents of fake advertisements that pose as online offerings of the province’s Land-based casinos despite current regulations disallowing the launch of online casinos.
The only online casino with permission to operate within the province is PlayNow, which is run by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA).
“If you see a Facebook or other social media ad for an online version of Dakota Dunes Casino, Casino Regina or any other Land-based casino in Saskatchewan, don’t click on it,” LGS said.
“Scammers use these types of fake ads to defraud people by stealing credit card numbers and other banking information.”
The fake advertisements are currently impersonating recognizable casinos with the illegal use of logos, images and branding that are stolen from the property’s websites. Currently, there are no Land-based properties located in Saskatchewan that offer online versions of its casino games.

LGS is also asking any residents that see these false ads to report them to the social media site on which it appeared.
The advertisements have been targeting casinos across North America, including those operated by LGS and SIGA, such as the Dakota Dunes Casino. Casino Regina and Casino Moose Jaw issued warnings to players on its social media accounts during early 2025.
