Scientific Games VP of US Instant Products Operations Joe Bennett will retire during April 2025 after serving with the company for 34 years, with Bryan Murphy set to assume the position once the retirement is official.
Bennett first joined Scientific Games in 1991 as a game programmer, having been described as becoming a “key architect in instant game security and innovation.”
He was said to play a crucial role in developing the foundational technologies that help power the global government-regulated lottery industry operating currently, working to create computer systems and algorithms that generate scratch games and security measures that safeguard instant products.
“Joe has consistently championed the highest standards of excellence. His leadership has driven innovation across our instant games portfolio, resulting in enhanced player experiences, trusted partnerships and support for the important good cause missions of our lottery customers,” Scientific Games President of Americas & Global Instant Products John Schulz said.
“We are confident that Bryan’s leadership and expertise will be instrumental as he takes on this vital role delivering end-to-end games to our customers.”

Murphy has been a member of Bennett’s team since 2007, most recently serving as Director of Finishing and Logistics for US instant game products.
In his new role, Murphy will oversee the day-to-day operations of Scientific Games’ US instant game production facilities, ensuring continued efficiency as well as the secure production and delivery of products to the company’s lottery customers.
Scientific Games stated that instant products represent 70% of the company’s global retail sales, as the provider currently serves 150 lotteries in 50 countries across the globe.
