The Virginia Lottery has reported the gaming revenues for December 2024 from the state’s three casinos, which generated $74.9m throughout the month for a 28% increase year-over-year. The three casinos include Caesars Virginia which opened to the public on December 17, replacing a temporary facility located in Danville.
The new Caesars destination also generated the most gaming revenue of the three casinos during December, reporting over $28.3m. Slots accounted for the majority of Caesars Virginia’s gaming revenue with a total of $21.5m, while table games contributed another $6.8m. The property has 1,145 slots available for players along with 137 table games.
Rivers Casino Portsmouth was a close second in gaming revenue, generating over $25.9m throughout december. The property’s slot games were responsible for nearly $18m of the December gaming revenue, while table games managed to bring in $7.9m as well.

Hard Rock Bristol reported close to $20.7m in total gaming revenue for December, $17.1m of which was generated by slots while nearly $3.6m came from table game play. Both Rivers Casino Portsmouth and Hard Rock Bristol have over 1,400 slots on its casino floor, also featuring over 60 tables at each location.
Throughout December, the three casinos combined to contribute almost $16.2m in taxes, which is split amongst funds given to the host city, the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund, the Family and Children’s Trust Fund and the Gaming Proceeds Fund.
