iGaming Ontario has released an update regarding Chief Executive Martha Otton’s upcoming retirement.
Otton announced during the summer that she would be leaving the company. She planned to step down from her role as of December 31.
However, as the company continues its search to fill Otton’s role, she said she will stay with the company as its Chief Executive until March 31, 2025.
iGaming Ontario explained further in a statement, “Earlier this year, Martha Otton informed iGaming Ontario’s Board of Directors of her intent to retire at the end of this calendar year after a distinguished career in the public service. Since that time, the Board has engaged a recruitment firm to help identify her successor as iGaming Ontario’s chief executive. The Board remains committed to iGaming Ontario’s vision, and to continue building on our collective work to establish and grow Ontario’s iGaming market.
“While the search for her successor is ongoing, and to help facilitate an orderly transition, Martha has graciously agreed to delay her retirement and remain as iGaming Ontario’s chief executive until March 31, 2025. Martha’s continuation in this role will ensure the agency’s steady leadership of Ontario’s competitive iGaming market.”
