Martha Otton to retire from iGaming Ontario

iGaming Ontario Chief Executive Martha Otton has announced her retirement. She said she will step down from her role on December 31.
The group said it will soon begin the process of looking for someone to fill Otton’s role.
Otton has led iGaming Ontario since she joined the company in 2021.
Prior to her time with iGaming Ontario, she served as the Chief Strategy Officer for the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). She helped implement the AGCO’s expanded mandate over horseracing and cannabis while serving in this role.
Otton has held other key positions throughout her career, including those with Legal Aid Ontario, the Ministry of the Attorney General. While with the Ministry of the Attorney General, she was the Acting Assistant Deputy Attorney General of the Agency Relations Division and Director of Corporate Policy and Agency Relations.
iGaming Ontario Board of Directors Chair Heidi Reinhart took a moment to commend Otton for her achievements by saying, “On behalf of the entire Board, I extend my sincere appreciation for Martha’s leadership of iGaming Ontario. She has left an impressive legacy across her career, and in particular to Ontario’s gaming sector.
“Ontario’s competitive iGaming market is testament to her visionary leadership and commitment to working with our operators and broader stakeholders.”
iGaming Ontario works in tandem with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and the Government of Ontario. These organizations collaborate to offer players around the province safer spaces for responsible gambling.
