Pikkit 2024 review shows 47.6% rise in tracked bets

December 9, 2024

Parlay bets represented nearly half of all wagers made.

Key points:

- Number of bets tracked and amount wagered increases significantly

- NBA and MLB dominate the sports

- 44,028,121 parlays were missed by just one leg

The sports betting bet-tracking app, known as Pikkit, has released trends and general insights into sports betting on its platform across the past year.

The report, known as Instant Replay, highlighted massive increases for the app during 2024, including 323 million bets being tracked on the platform, representing an increase of 47.6% from 2023, which meant $10.6bn was tracked in wagers, up 77.2% from last year.

Looking at the most popular sports among Pikkit users, the NBA at 34.4% was at the top of the list, followed by the MLB at 22.6% and NFL at 18.9%.

Parlay betting, which continues to grow in popularity, as explored in Gambling Insider’s Sports Betting Focus H2 2024 cover feature, was the most popular method of betting at 49.7% – nearly half of which was via same game parlays. Straight bets made up 44.8% of the total and round robins 5.5%.

An interesting stat from Pikkit’s Instant Replay was that 44,028,121 parlays were missed by just one leg, reflecting around $6.13bn in almost earned profit, which the platform has said is a larger figure than the GDP of Barbados

Pikkit Head of Product Barrett Fitzgerald said, “The holidays are always such a special time of year for us here at Pikkit. One of the main reasons is Pikkit Instant Replay - such a pleasure to work on.

Good to know: Back in September, the American Gaming Association (AGA) estimated that $35m would be placed in legal bets during the 2024 NFL season

“We spend most of our time focused on day-to-day improvements so stepping back and seeing the growth year over year and how much our users have adopted our platform is a special feeling. Pikkit has become the go-to platform for bettors seeking a connected and insightful experience.

“We’re proud to provide tools that bring these stories to life while helping people gamble responsibly. We can’t wait to show what’s in store for 2025.”

In other sports betting news today, it has been reported that as a result of Missouri legalizing of sports betting, this could have an impact on the market in Kansas
