Seminole Tribe of Florida and Hard Rock donate $1m to hurricane victims

The Seminole Tribe of Florida and Hard Rock International have shown support for those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
In total, $1m in monetary donations has been committed, with these funds going towards the work of World Central Kitchen and the American Red Cross; in their efforts to support communities impacted by the storms, helping with immediate recovery and long-term rebuilding.
On top of this, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa has opened as a state-designated shelter within its Event Center, providing resources such as meals, medical care, and a safe refuge for individuals who have been displaced.
At the Event Center, World Central Kitchen has prepared over 700 meals in a mobile kitchen, while Seminole Hard Rock Tampa has prepared and delivered more than 1,000 meals at shelter sites throughout Tampa.
The donation will formally be handed over to representatives of the two organisations later this month at an invite-only event at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.
Seminole Tribe of Florida Chairman Marcellus Osceola Jr said, “The Seminole Tribe of Florida has always been committed to helping our neighbors in times of crisis.
“We’d like to thank Governor Ron DeSantis for his partnership in uplifting our communities at this critical time. With the help of our dedicated teams across Florida, we are able to make a meaningful impact for those in need after Hurricanes Helene and Milton.”
Hard Rock International Chairman and Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen added, “Opening our doors to displaced families in Tampa and providing financial support is just the beginning of our ongoing commitment to the recovery efforts.
“We are very grateful for the incredible work our partners at World Central Kitchen and American Red Cross do across the globe.”
