Betfred announces closure date of Arizona online operations
As of September 19, at 10pm local time, Betfred will no longer accept online deposits, online wagers or new registrations.
Betfred sportsbook has announced that the operator will be closing down its online operations in the state of Arizona officially on November 4, 2024. The final day for users to withdraw funds from their respective accounts is set for the same date and time.
As of September 19, at 10pm local time, Betfred will no longer accept online deposits, online wagers or new registrations.
All outstanding wagers will be settled based on a fair market value as an early cash out on the following day, while any stake and/or winning eligible wagers will be credited to the user’s account for withdrawing.
Betfred stated in its announcement that it will be “working closely with regulators to ensure this process is handled securely, correctly and done in accordance with all state regulations and guidelines.
“We strive to meet player and regulatory needs and expectations.”
On June 21, Maryland’s Long Shot’s OTB and Betfred opted to cease its relationship.
The two reached “a mutual agreement for parting of ways,” according to a Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission meeting.
Betfred’s retail sports wagering operations around the state closed on June 30, with mobile options closing on July 31.
In other news, Betfred USA partnered with US Integrity (USI) to utilize measures that will help prevent coaches, student-athletes and staff from participating in prohibited sports betting.
Under the terms of the agreement, Betfred was given access to ProhiBet, which offers sportsbook operators and sports properties a secure and transparent monitoring system.
