Fanatics Sportsbook launches in Wyoming
The sportsbook is now available in 21 states after most recently debuting in New Jersey and Illinois.
Fanatics Betting and Gaming has announced the launch of its Fanatics Sportsbook app in the state of Wyoming. Starting May 29, residents can download the app and begin placing bets through the different markets offered by Fanatics.
Wyoming originally made sports betting legal in September of 2021, with DraftKings breaking ground as the first operator to become available for residents. BetMGM followed closely behind, and now Wyoming has numerous online sportsbook options to offer bettors. Sportsbooks in Wyoming remain to be mostly online, unless Tribal casinos in the state offer sportsbooks on-site.
Fanatics now is available in 21 states across the US, or 95% of the addressable market in the country. The company most recently launched in New Jersey and Illinois this year, also striking a partnership with pro golfer Justin Thomas prior to the PGA Championship beginning on May 16.
Wyoming’s sports betting law requires operators to pay a $100k initial five-year permit and a $50k renewal fee. Sports betting revenue is taxed at 10% for the state and Wyoming currently has an approximate population of 440k adults, the least populated state to launch sports betting.
Fanatics also recently completed its acquisition of PointsBet in April of 2024, helping to transition New Jersey residents’ personal information from the PointsBet app onto the Fanatics Sportsbook. Residents of Wyoming will now be able to access the same features available in states like New Jersey, such as FanCash that users can redeem for team merchandise, bonus bets and more.
