BetMGM and Washington Nationals to distribute thousands of meals for Turkeypalooza

Washington Nationals Philanthropies, in partnership with BetMGM, will provide 900 turkeys along with other foods and winterwear to families in need.

BetMGM has partnered with the Washington Nationals baseball team’s official charitable organization, Washington Nationals Philanthropies, to hold its largest ‘Turkeypalooza’ yet.

This week, 900 turkeys will be distributed across four areas.

Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM CEO, said, “As the official sportsbook of the Washington Nationals, BetMGM partnered with Nationals Philanthropies last year to expand the foundation’s efforts and open Turkeypalooza to the larger public for the first time. We are proud to continue this important relationship to once again support families in need this holiday season.”

Though this is only BetMGM’s second year taking part, this is the sixth annual Turkeypalooza, which has grown to include the provision of additional foods, such as nonperishables and fresh produce, as well as winter hats and gloves for Washington residents.

Over 3,600 complete meals will be delivered to communities where access to food is limited.

Nationals Youth Baseball Academy families will also be served at the Academy campus, with public access to food distribution at the BetMGM Sportsbook at National Park, the Ferebee-Hope Recreation Center near Scherzer Field and the Oakcrest Community Center in District Heights.

“Disparity in food access is a key driver of hunger in the region, and the strain on access is heightened during the holiday season. Thanks to our continued partnership with BetMGM, we can expand our Thanksgiving meal distribution to help thousands of residents celebrate the holiday with a full meal.”

The organization’s year-round projects include a farmers market in Ward 7 and the Nats4Good Community Response Fund. Over a million meals have been distributed to date across all of these efforts.
