Golden West Casino wins permission for new card room

The new building will be located across from Meadows Field Airport.
The Golden West Casino located in California has won permission to build a new and much bigger venue for its casino operations.
The casino has been located in South Union Avenue since November 1995, an area that has often been associated with crime, with it now being moved to an area just across from the Meadows Field; a site where a lot of other companies are lining up development projects.
Management team member from Golden West, Fevaea’i Ahmu, described the benefits of the new location in a letter, saying, “Moving to a safer environment in terms of crime and violence will be appreciated by both employees and customers.”
Prior to beginning the construction of the building, there are a number of items set out within the permit that has been granted, which need to be followed. Certain stipulations include abiding by height and flood-plain restrictions, while also having to submit a biological survey on the area where the construction is set to take place.
The project was ruled categorically exempt from a fuller review under the California Enviromental Quality Act.
The new property is set to run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, include a maximum of 45 card tables and be served by around 200 employees.
The President and CEO at the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Jay Tamsi, highlighted how key the casino is to the local economy and how it provides a safe and enjoyable environment for residents and visitors.
Work on this project will likely be followed by the construction of the Hard Rock casino complex planned in Mettler.
