PGCB issues fines of $73,075 to three gaming licensees, including Truck Stop operator
Live! Casino Pittsburgh, Parx Casino and Love’s Travel Stops and County Stores were fined at least $18,000 each.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) recently approved four consent agreements after a public meeting, which will result in $73,075 in fines for three gaming license holders. The fines follow negotiation with The Board’s Office of Enforcement Counsel (OEC) and the licensees of two casinos and one video gaming terminal (VGT) establishment.
Live! Casino Pittsburgh, operated by Stadium Casino Westmoreland, has received two fines: $20,000 for permitting two people onto the gaming floor who ended up gambling while they were on the PGCB casino self-exclusion list, and $10,000 for permitting a person under legal gambling age onto the gaming floor.
Parx Casino, operated by Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, was fined $18,075 for failure to submit two license renewal applications by their required deadlines.
Love’s Travel Stops & County Stores was fined $25,000 for not advising the PGCB of “structure changes involving its five VGT Truck Stop Entertainment locations.” The nature of VGTs at truck stops and the regulation of these devices within Pennsylvania in general, has been controversial recently with several Senate discussions, legal briefs and policy committee hearings taking place since August.
In July, the PGCB also issued fines totaling $67,500 to two casinos for leaving minors unattended on their gaming floors, and to a third for employing an improperly trained roulette dealer.
During one incident at Mohegan Pennsylvania, a person under the age of 21 was also served alcohol. Seven adults were also banned for leaving minors unattended in cars while gambling.
