Maryland’s statewide sports wagering handle was $254.5m for June 2023

Maryland’s sportsbooks combined to generate more than $2.8m in contributions to the state during June 2023.
The Old Line State has 10 retail sportsbooks and 10 mobile sportsbooks. Each sportsbook contributes 15% of its taxable win to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, a government fund that supports public education programs.
Maryland’s statewide handle in June totaled $254.5m. Mobile handle accounted for 95.8% of the total, at more than $243.8m.
Mobile wagering contributed more than $2.7m to the state in June, while retail sportsbooks contributed more than $91,000.
Maryland’s sports wagering market opened with five retail locations in December 2021. The first seven of its mobile sportsbooks launched in November 2022. More retail and mobile sportsbook locations are expected to launch in Maryland in the near future.

Since Maryland’s sports wagering program began, the cumulative contribution to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund has received more than $28m and the cumulative expired prizes contributed to the Problem Gambling Fund has been more than $2.2m.
