Louisiana gaming revenue down double digits in August

Louisiana casinos saw revenue plummet in August, a month when the state dealt with severe weather including Hurricane Laura.
Total AGR for Louisiana riverboats reached $113m for the month, a year-on-year decline of 31% and a 18% drop from July.
Harrah’s New Orleans Casino, the state’s lone brick-and-mortar, reported AGR of $12m, down 49% year-on-year and a 9% decrease from the month prior.
Golden Nugget Lake Charles led the state with $19m of revenue in August but the riverboat casino suffered extensive roof damage from Hurricane Laura.
The storm hit on 27 August.
The Golden Nugget was one of four Lake Charles casinos to be damaged from the storm. All four properties remained closed through the end of August into September.
