Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana continues its reign with $39.1m in April revenue
The casino has taken the top spot for the past 19 months.
The Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) has released its casino revenue report for the month of April. While casinos in Lake and Laporte Counties reported decreases in earnings, Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana grabbed the number one spot once again.
The casino has reported the largest earnings statewide for the past 19 months. Indiana is currently home to 12 commercial casinos.
Total casino revenue during the month of April reached more than $211m.
Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana’s revenue rose by 2.3% year-over-year. Other heavy hitters included Horseshoe Indianapolis and Horseshoe Hammond, which recorded total earnings of $30.5m and $25.7m respectively.
Hard Rock also took the lead in slot machine play during April. The brand brought in a total of $275.1m and a state-best win that reached $27.3m. Results from last month were higher than totals from a year ago, which saw a slot win of $25.5m that came from $260.5m in play.
The state generated more than $40m in earnings from its table games during April. Total April slot wins in Indiana were more than $170.6m.
Indiana’s online and retail handle reached $321.4m during the month of April, down by more than $40m when compared to results from last year’s corresponding month.
However, April’s total failed to surpass the monthly high set in January 2022. During that month, the online and retail handle reached $500.1m.
With respect to tax revenue, Indiana collected close to $66m from both slot and table gameplay last month. The IGC reported that another $2.8m was paid out from settled sports wagers.
